Generally, it depends on preference. You could be a forward who likes a mid kick point stick and likes to take big slapshots or one-timers from the top of the circle. You could be a defenceman who likes a low kick point sticks and is looking for a quick release from the point or often joins up on the rush.

A kick point on a stick is where the stick flexes. If you are unaware how hockey sticks work, flex is what gives your shots power and that "sling" feeling.

Different types of kickpoints:

Low kick point - Made for quick, hard, and accurate shots.

Mid kick point - Made for hard, fast, and powerful shots.

Hybrid kick point - Made for the players that like to do everything.

The flex you choose should ultimately be half your body weight. Of course, it is up to you. Personal preference is taken into consideration, so it depends on if you like a stiffer or softer stick.

It depends on preference. Bauer and CCM both have different styles of stick and use different technologies to improve different parts of the stick. They do use different flex scales for some of their models as well.
